As the Assistant Majority Leader in the state House, it has been my pleasure to serve the working families of House District 15. It would be my honor to continue to serve you, the citizens of House District 15. I also look forward to meeting and serving those added to the district as a part of the reapportionment process. Democrats passed vindictive new district maps in an effort to divide and disrupt House Republicans. Despite their best efforts to put politics before policy, we remain focused on promoting private sector job growth and stimulating the economy. As a leader in the House, I am committed to my role maintaining unity in the House Republican caucus and promoting effective public policy for the citizens of Colorado. I am happy to report we have used our one-seat majority effectively to stop many job killing proposals pushed by the Democrats over the past six years. In addition to stopping many bad proposals we have even been able to reverse a few as well. In 2011, we were able to restore the software and agriculture tax exemptions taken as part of the “dirty dozen” tax bills rammed through by the Democrats in 2010. Finally, last year we passed the most responsible budget seen in years. With the exception of federally mandated Medicaid spending, we spent fewer dollars than the year before. While we have many accomplishments to be proud of, we still have a lot of work to do to restore our economy and get people back to work. With other Republican leaders, I have traveled the state looking for home grown solutions to Colorado’s economic problems. Business leaders have consistently told us over regulation and constantly changing rules are the barriers stalling economic growth. This year we are introducing legislation requiring greater oversight of the state agencies that impose overly burdensome regulation on Colorado businesses. We are also introducing legislation that prevents state agencies from changing the rules in the permitting process once it has begun. I am committed to serving you, the citizens of House District 15. I will continue to use my position as Assistant Majority Leader to promote our conservative ideals and values in Denver. I will also use my leadership skills to continue the work we have begun to promote unity and grow our majority in the state House. If you have questions or comments, please feel free to contact me. Yours Sincerely, Mark Waller (O) 303-866-5525 Assistant House Majority Leader
